Air Canada introduces new services to the
U.S. and northern B.C. from Calgary and Vancouver

CALGARY and VANCOUVER - Air Canada announced today it is expanding its U.S.
transborder network with the introduction of non-stop services from Vancouver to
Sacramento, CA and from Calgary to Seattle, WA this summer. In addition, the
airline is launching new non-stop service from Calgary to Prince George, B.C.
All new flights will be operated by Air Canada Jazz with 50-seat, made-in-Canada
Bombardier CRJ aircraft.
"Air Canada is strategically expanding its transborder and domestic services,
offering customers more destinations, more flights, more choice and more
convenience when flying," said Daniel Shurz, Vice President, Network Planning.
"The introduction of daily, non-stop service on June 1 from Calgary to both
Prince George and Seattle will further enhance service in Alberta's vibrant
energy center. We are pleased to add Sacramento, capital of California and the
largest and fastest growing market in that state, to our Vancouver network on
June 15. We expect these new services to be popular with both business and
leisure travellers."
Air Canada is also increasing flights on existing routes from western Canada to
meet travel demand this summer.
Calgary:
From Calgary, Air Canada will add additional non-stop flights during the summer
peak for double daily service to: Halifax, Comox, Yellowknife, and New York (JFK).
Service to Montreal will increase to four daily and flights to Saskatoon will
increase to five daily.
The new Calgary to Seattle flights will depart Calgary at 09:00 and at 18:00,
arriving in Seattle at 09:30 and 18:30 respectively. Flights will depart Seattle
at 10:00 and at 19:00, arriving back in Calgary at 12:20 and 21:20 respectively.
Flights have been timed to offer convenient connections in Calgary to and from
Air Canada's extensive domestic schedule and to London Heathrow. This new route
complements existing daily flights from both Toronto and Vancouver to Seattle.
The new Calgary to Prince George flights will depart Calgary at 12:20, arriving
in Prince George at 12:35. Flights will depart Prince George at 14:15, arriving
in Calgary at 16:30. This new route complements existing daily service from
Vancouver to Prince George.
Vancouver:
From Vancouver, the carrier will add U.S. transborder flights to Los Angeles,
San Francisco, and Seattle. As previously announced, Air Canada will also
increase its service during the summer from Vancouver to Beijing, offering
double daily, non-stop flights starting July 1.
The new Vancouver to Sacramento flights will depart Vancouver at 13:55 and at
19:50, arriving in Sacramento at 15:52 and 21:47 respectively. Flights will
depart Sacramento at 07:40 and at 16:30, arriving in Vancouver at 09:40 and
18:30 respectively. Flights have been timed to offer convenient connections in
Vancouver to and from Air Canada's extensive flights to Asia and destinations
across Canada.
Edmonton:
From Edmonton, Air Canada will increase the only non-stop flights to London
Heathrow to daily service starting April 1. The carrier has also added
frequencies to Montreal and Yellowknife for double daily service to both cities,
and to Winnipeg for four daily flights during the summer peak. Air Canada will
also launch daily, non-stop seasonal flights to Halifax starting June 16.
