Low-Cost Mexican Carrier To Participate In GDS Aerolineas Mesoamericanas (Alma de Mexico) has become the newest participating carrier in the Worldspan global distribution system (GDS). Through a recently signed multi-year, full content, participating carrier agreement with global travel technology provider Worldspan, L.P., the fast-growing low-cost carrier has significantly expanded distribution of its flights, availability and fares to all points of sale globally. Based in Guadalajara, Mexico, Alma de Mexico has also become the first of Mexico's rapidly growing low-cost carriers to recognize the value and reach offered by global distribution system (GDS) participation. Worldspan customers worldwide, including traditional and online travel agencies, and business travelers using Worldspan Trip Manager(R) XE, have access to all of Alma de Mexico's published fares, web fares and related inventory. Launched in June 2006, Alma de Mexico offers point-to-point connections and a growing number of routes between cities in Mexico. The airline operates a fleet of 50-seat Bombardier CRJ200 regional jets. |
