‘new St.Tropez’ British serial entrepreneur Peter de Savary, renowned for his legendary hospitality creations, is spearheading the creation of several new destinations on the “spice island” of Grenada, which de Savary says is set to become the “new St. Tropez.” This multi-billion dollar project, already well underway, includes: Port Louis: This charming, lively village overlooking the picturesque and historic Carenage and beaches will feature a portfolio of West Indian and Mediterranean-style community of residential, retail, hotels, spa clubs, restaurants, beach and a world-class marina. The first of up to 300 berths at the Port Louis Yacht Club are expected to be released by June. Azzurra Castle: A magical six-bedroom property, with stunning water-side setting, will be available for exclusive use rental for $25,000 per week for up to 10 guests. The house is a myriad of outdoor living and dining areas as well as having its own folly, mosaic pool and media room. Mount Edgecombe Plantation: An hour's drive north of the capital St George's, the ancient Great House and Estate have been fully restored to provide the perfect away-day from the lively Port Louis. Hike around the plantation groves, visit the gardens or take a swim in the infinity pool set hundreds of feet above the Caribbean. Enjoy a delicious lunch with many fruits and vegetables from the Estate. Tufton Hall: set in the heart of the tropical rain-forest overlooking
the Caribbean Sea, Tufton Hall, another ancient plantation Great House,
is being restored to provide Grenada's first eco-spa. With an emphasis
on back to nature, there will be organic and herbal treatments and
activities such as donkey trekking to the waterfalls for natural
swimming. |
