Riu Aruba scheduled to open this summer

Chain approaching 13,380 Caribbean rooms
The RIU chain will inaugurate its 5-star Palace hotel on the Caribbean island of Aruba this summer after completely reforming and modernising the resort it acquired two years ago.

The new 450-room resort will be called Riu Palace Aruba and will bring RIU’s Caribbean room total to almost 13,380 rooms in 29 Caribbean establishments.

Riu Palace Aruba is located right on the seafront in Palm Beach, considered one of the Caribbean's most spectacular beaches, which according to the hotel is ideal for mid-depth scuba diving and snorkelling.

RIU's new resort will offer a wide array of eating choices that include theme restaurants featuring international specialties, local cuisine, a grill/steakhouse, gourmet restaurant, Japanese cuisine and Italian cuisine, as well as a number of bars with different atmospheres.

Riu began operations in the Caribbean in 1991 with the inauguration of the Riu Taíno in Punta Cana.

In November it will inaugurate its largest resort and new international flagship, Riu Santa Fe in Los Cabos, Mexico.

The Riu Santa Fe will be an all-inclusive 5-star leisure resort with 902 rooms and at €120 million ($185.4 million) is the chain's largest single investment in its 54 year history.

RIU Hotels & Resorts has more than 100 hotels in 18 countries and over 18,000 employees.
