Over 500 Toronto-Area Travel Agents Enjoy Sandals and Beaches Trade Show & Presentation

Last night, more than 500 Toronto-area travel agents gathered at the Toronto Delta Chelsea Hotel for Sandals and Beaches’ presentation “Grand Designs for 2007”, a showcase of the many innovations the company has made over the past year.
Ben Smith, President and CEO, Air Canada Vacations
Air Canada Vacations, a longtime supporter of Sandals and Beaches, sponsored the evening. President and CEO Ben Smith said, “We’ve enjoyed a long partnership of twenty-five years with Sandals and Beaches Resorts.”

“Air Canada Vacations is proud to be the top producer of Sandals and Beaches product in North America, and we look forward to the next twenty-five years of support from travel agents.”

ACV will also sponsor Sandals and Beaches’ up-coming series of agent presentations across Canada.

World-Class Upgrades

With 16 properties scattered across the Caribbean, Sandals and Beaches have been, or are in the process of, making upgrades. The Sandals Montego Bay resort – the first Sandals ever – unveiled 59 newly restored rooms and suites in March.

Sandals Grande Antigua
The Sandals Grande Antigua will open its Mediterranean Village soon, which will offer 180 new suites, all with ocean views. The Village cost US $70 million to build, and will offer a sixth swimming pool and four new restaurants, taking the total number of restaurants to nine. A conference room and shopping area will also be added.
Sandals Grande St. Lucian
At Sandals Grande St. Lucian, eight new Rondoval suites will be added this summer in response to high demand. With no corners, sensuous lines, and an open concept, they are a popular and romantic choice for couples.

The exciting and all-new River Suites will be added to Sandals Negril Beach Resort & Spa and Sandals Royal Caribbean Resort & Spa. These new rooms will be 15 metres wide and have a sloped terrace that offers direct access to their own river pool oasis, with proximity to the beach. Negril boasts 25 of these suites, while Royal Caribbean will offer ten.

Beaches resorts will also enjoy upgrades that make family vacations fun. Separate rooms for adults and kids, Xbox consoles in children’s rooms, and Crayola-certified children’s programs have been added. Adults can enjoy the fine Beringer Vineyards’ wines, specially bottled for the resorts, which enhance the flavours of Caribbean cuisine.

Certified Sandals Specialists Speak Up

Omar Josephs, Sales Manager - Ontario
Amanda Brown, Sales Manager - Southwestern Ontario
Omar Josephs, Sales Manager, Ontario, and Amanda Brown, Sales Manager, Southwestern Ontario, introduced three travel agents to the audience, who each had a testimonial of their own to share with their colleagues. These agents all found that success and Sandals go hand-in-hand.

The Certified Sandals Specialist program allows agents to gain credentials for their knowledge of, and expertise in selling, Sandals and Beaches resorts. The different levels – Silver, Gold, and Platinum – allow agents to distinguish themselves from their competitors.

Incentives to Sell

It wasn’t only dessert that got agents’ mouths watering, but the fabulous incentives they could win. Special offers included contests with amazing prizes, like a jet set getaway aboard CEO Butch Stewart’s luxury private plane, and seven days in a deluxe environment. Agents also have the chance to win designer bags from Coach, Prada, Gucci, or Louis Vuitton, depending on how many bookings they make.
