Sandals and Beaches Resorts brought the laughter and warmth of the
Caribbean to a media-only luncheon at the Toronto Delta Chelsea Hotel’s
conference rooms on April 12, during the unveiling of their ‘Grand
Designs for 2007’.
Highlights included a video message from Gordon ‘Butch’ Stewart,
chairman and founder and his son Adam Stewart, CEO outlining the
company’s message: “We are the Caribbean. Sandals and Beaches is our
passion and we want to share it with you.”
It’s All About the Experience

Gary Sadler, Director of Sales and Marketing for Unique Vacations, the
worldwide representative of Sandals and Beaches resorts, introduced a
stellar line-up of guest speakers starting with Armando ‘Mandy’ Chomat,
Senior VP of Sales, who emphasized that Sandals and Beaches stand out
from the competition because “we’re selling an experience, not a
product.”

That experience, he explained, includes an ‘ultra all-included’ luxury
vacation, at one of 12 properties located in Jamaica, St. Lucia,
Antigua, and the Bahamas, featuring white-glove service, gourmet cuisine
and fine wine, plus spacious rooms by the best beaches in the Caribbean.
Mr. Chomat went on to share his own Sandals experience, mentioning the
first time he and his wife went to the Red Lane Spa to familiarize
themselves with the product. While he enjoyed his massage the day he
received it, the next day he was sore and achy, and at that moment
“realized I am not a ‘spa man’.” To laughs from the crowd, he said that
his wife loved the spa, and they still talk about that experience to
this day.
“Sandals offers couples a rare chance to connect and experience, all
over again, ‘the perfect moment’, away from work, stress, and the
outside world.”
A Perfect Partnership

Warren Cohen, Senior VP of Marketing & Sales Development, was on hand to
discuss the Sandals and Beaches partnership with California’s Beringer
Vineyards. As the self-proclaimed “company wine connoisseur,” he
discussed the four exclusive, private-label wines available only at
Sandals and Beaches resorts, and wine education classes for Sandals
guests. He got so excited about describing how 500 staff members
completed their wine training courses that he mixed up the words “sex”
and “success,” drawing hearty laughter from the crowd. “We all do it,
what’s the fuss here?” he joked.
Going Above and Beyond

Kevin Froemming, President, Unique Vacations |

While many of his colleagues talked about product, Kevin Froemming,
Unique Vacations’ President, wanted to mention the passionate people
behind the company.
“Just an hour before, Butch Stewart called me, and he wanted to
apologize for not being able to attend today’s event. He was just saying
goodbye to a longtime customer, who had just completed her 100th stay at
the Montego Bay resort.”
“It’s this dedication, passion, and pride that comes from the people
of Sandals, and I want to show you that it extends to our management
team, not just our staff,” said Froemming.
“Canada is a special market, and we thank you for your support.” |
