Delegates Promote Lone Star State

A group of delegates from Texas conducted sales calls, media appointments and hosted events in Calgary and Vancouver from March 26-30 in an effort to increase awareness and educate media and trade on new tourism developments and vacation opportunities in the Lone Star State.

Canada is the second-largest source of visitor arrivals to Texas after Mexico. According to Statistics Canada, 305,000 Canadians travelled to Texas in 2005, representing an 18 per cent increase over 2004.

In the first three quarters of 2006, 255,300 Canadians visited the state, representing an increase of seven per cent over the same time period in 2005.
