“britswanted.com” Web Campaign Beats Out Stiff Competition

Tourisme Montréal took top honours in the category of “Best Exploration of Digital Media” at the prestigious British Annual Canada Travel Awards (BACTA) held in London on March 14. The black-tie ceremony followed the two-day Spotlight Canada event, which showcased the country's coast-to-coast attractions.

Tourisme Montréal beat out stiff competition to become the first-time winners in this new category. Industry members recognized the organization's hard work over the past year in promoting Montréal through "britswanted.com", a cutting-edge website that features a series of video testimonials from Montrealers expressing their views on the festive life and culture of their city.

Launched last October on the U.K. market, the web campaign targets affluent, urban travellers who seek short overseas getaways. From the britswanted.com home page, Internet users can be easily redirected to the British Airways Web site to make their on-line reservations.
